Death of the Jones Boy.
The little son of Mr. and. Mrs. John Jones, brief mention of whose sickness was made in the Friday Republican, died a few minutes after 8 o'clock Sunday morning. .Spinal meningitis resulting from pneumonia was the cause of death. When the inflammation of the spinal cord was dsicovered the attending physician cal'ed a specialist to administer the rerum treatment which has reduced the mortality from 90 to 16 per cent. Had the disease been of ttje cerebral kind it is probable that the treatment would have been successful, but as it was accompanied by pneumonia which Settled in the brain the treatment was Unavailing. The.child’s name was-John Lloyd Janes, and he was >3 years of age the sth of last August.
