Frank Osborne, the contractor, Is one of the happiest men In Rensselaer right now. He came back from Lafayette several days ago, after undergoing treatment to have a pipe cancer removed from his lower lip. Mr. Osborne began to notice a sore place on his lip about a year ago, and he gave It very little notice for tome time. Along In July he decided that the growth was cancerous and he quit smoking, burning his pipe and tobacco In the kitchen stove. He took treatment all the time, but the growth continued to spread and when he heard of a Lafayette specialist on cancers and determined to go there, the cancer was an Inch and a half In width and deep rooted. He took treatment covering five days, and shortly after returning to Rensselaer the cancer was removed, and the Up la now heaUng up and Mr. Osborne has confidence that the relief will be permanent, and his many friends are hoping that it wIU be. Fletcher Monnett went to Evanston today, where he will remain for the ensuing three weeks. He Is managing his large hotel this year and Is ■pending much of his time there.
