' - " \ Mrs. W. A* Hhrd, of Wa f seka, 111., who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. A. F. Shesler, went to Moncn today to visit her brother. She was accompanied to the latter place by her mother, Mrß. James Seward. Isaac Fisher, the barber, came over from Francesville Monday and will remain until this evening with bis family here. He has been unable so far to find a house to live lu at Francesville, and his family will remain here until he is able to get a house there. Geo. Fate, the restaurant man, who succeeded O. H. McKay, has rented one of the flats over the Republican office and is today preparing it for their occupancy. Mrs. Fate will probably come from Indianapolis Thursday. The Republican was in error in saying that Mrs. B. Forsythe was the first lady to purchase a lot; that distinction belongs to Miss Mary Meyer, the milliner, who Is one of the city’s most deserving young business women. Another lady subscriber is Mrs. Mary Lowe, whose name in some manner failed to get in the list •of subscribers until today.
