The Monticello Horse Market

The Wednesday evening Monticello Journal gives an account of the monthly horse sale which was conducted In that town Tuesday. Dennis Gleason ft Son, of this city, bought 11 head to ship to Cincinnati; Davis, Biggs ft Bowen bought 23 head; Chicago buyers bought It head; Thorn town and Lafayette layers bought 4 head and a number mae were sold to Monties! lo dealers or to farmers. Probably 75 to 100 heel of horses changed hands, at prices ranging from $l5O to $230. The Journal estimates the day's business tat the horse market at SIO,OOO. Their next sale will be on March Ist, whan the record of the February sale la expected to be broken.
