Commends Bluffton Lot Sale.
A traveling man named B. F. Buckner was in Rensselaer Thursday. His home is at Bluffton, where a lot sale was conducted in 1907 by L. D. Price, the man who is conducting the Rensselaer sale. A fund of SBO,OOO was raised there, -and a piano factory was secured through Mr. Price. This factory now employs upwards of 400 men and i Bluffton has increased, from 4,500 to more than 6,000 in population. Two electric railroads have been attracted there by the enterprise of the town and Bluffton |s one of the best towns in the state of its size, being wide awake and prosperous, Mr. Buckner came to the Republican office to say that Bluffton people were in every way pleased with the resullt of their enterprise and that he heard nothing but praise there for the manner in which Mr. Price had dealt! with the commercial club. ‘ Sylvester Gray, of this city, owns a farm near Bluffton and Mr. Gray was one of the first purchasers of a lot for our factory aid. Geo. K. Babcock, Jas. Babcock, Harley Lamson and _other'former Jasper county people also own land and live near Bulffton, and they will all doubtless verify the growth of that city.
