$30,000 JUDGMENT FOR HAYNES HACKETT
Monon Switchman Who Lost Both Legs Was Given Same Amount Court Awarded in Previous Trial
A telegram from Chicago says the court that tried the case, of Haynes Hackett, the Monon switchman, had awarded a judgment in the sum of $30,000. Hacket lost both of his legs about two years ago, as he alleges, by being jarred off the train by its Sudden starting. The case was tried
in Chicago about a year ago and a judgment for $30,000 was rendered. The Monon secured a new trial and it has been pending in Chicago for the past two weeks. Judgment was rendered Friday. It is probable that the defendant will take an appeal to the higher court.
