HANGING GROVE TOWNSHIP

Ed Randle was in McCoysburg a few minutes Monday afternoon. Otto Hooker made a prospective tour over in Ohio the fore part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Reed McCoy and Kate Maxwell went to Chicago Tuesday morning. Hoy Rishilng’s children have searlet fever and the family was quarantined Monday. Chas. McCashen has moved on the Corliss farm vacated some months ago l?y Mr. Kennedy. R. C. McDonald has arranged for his box social to take pla e S iturday night. The program will be real entertaining. Mrs. Eldridge left Tuesday morning for Crown Point, after a visit here with Wm. TEldridge and family and Mr. and Mrs. W. R Willits. Miss Gertrude Downs went to Indianapolis Monday for a visit with relatives and also to attend a doub e wedding, which will occur next month. Next Wednesday is the date of Albert garner's big sale. Mr. Warner has quite a nice lot of stock and other articles to sell, and if. the day is ordinarily fair a large crowd will be in. attendance. Albert E. Nitzchke and family have moved into one of the vacant rooms where Cathrine Parcels now lives. He expects to tend part of the big Horton & Mosseley ranch the coming season. Mrs. Parcels and her son Isaac will occupy a farm near Francesville about March Ist. The new trustee has been real busy since he took his seat of office, harid-ing-.out road notices, some to reopen a closed road, mention of which has been made heretofore, and some notice to establish a new road from the east end Qf the road running past Clyde Foulks’ to the -county line. The work on both will not likely begin before thirty and s xty days respectively.

Fair Oaks Items.

Born, to Ed Hall and wife, Wednesday, Jan. 13th, a boy. Lola Moore is thought to have pneumonia fever. Oliver Brohard and family have moved into the Hooper property. Mrs. Pearl Kight, of Wheatfield, visited her mother, Mrs. Dodge, last week. Carrie McKay was called to Kirklin this week to help take care of her grandmother, who is seriously sick. The members of the Epworth League met Sunday night and elected officers for the coming year. Milt Gundy with several other men are filling the ice house this week with ice. Sam Crawford and Clarence Goff left Fair Oaks a few days ago for parts unknown. r A party was given at Al Helsell’s Tuesday night in honor of their daughter’s 13th birthday. Grandma Brohard and Grandma Cooper have both been on the sick list for the past two weeks. The attendance at Sunday school has been greatly cut down on account of the whooping cough among the children. Al Blake and family are living in the house formerly occupied by his father and mother, who died only a few days apart. Miss Ada Brease, who has been employed as private teacher for tbea Carr children this winter, left for her home this week.

Bertha, Ethel and Spencer Holmes called on Agnes and Maggie Hurley Sunday afternoon. Quite a few people attended Jim Moore’s sale from this locality Monday. Thomas Brown and wife spent Sunday night with C. M. Greenlee and family. Mr. and Mrs. John Scott spent Tuesday night with Sam’l. Holmes and family. Everett Greenlee and family visited with Thomas Brown and family Suday. John Scott sold a span of mules and one pony to Mr. (Jleason. Consideration |4OO. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Holmes and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brown attended the Jim Moore sale and called on Mr. and Mrs. John Scott for dinner.
