Koppelman Store Burns at DeMotte.
The general merchandise store of . Jacob Koppelman, at DeMotte, was destroyed by fire last Friday night. The fire was discovered at about 1 o’clock Saturday nforning, and so entirely was the building enveloped in dames that efforts to save it or to save any of the contents were useless. Mr. Koppelman did an extensive business and carried a large stock. It is understood that the stock was insured for only about half of its value. The building was a two story frame, and on the second floor the Knights of Pythias lodge had its quarters. All the lodge belongings were destroyed toy fire. The origin of the fire is not known. Mr. Koppelman will probably build a store room and re-engage in business.
