Two New Cases Filed.
Two new cases ere filed Saturday to be tried at -this term of the circuit court. James A. Keister alleges that on Sept. sth he was assaulted by John F. Mitchell and struck with a club. He alleges that he was so thoroughly beaten that he was compelled to go to bed and that he has received permannet injuries, for which he seeks damages In the sum of sj6oo. The Indianapolis Saddlery Co. brings suit against John Carmichael, alleging an unpaid account
Rev. Charles F. Barrett, who began a series of meetings at the M. E. church Sunday evening, held the closest attention of his large audience and impressed them most favorably. Evidently Rev. Barrett is the whole-souled sort of evangelist, who considers life a practical matter, and lives it and treats it as a real thing to be made the most of. There is no long-faced ultra seriousness about Rev. Barrett. His idea or religion is that it should make everybody happy, and he preaches Jesus Christ with an earnestness and enthusiasm that is sure to attract and please and should convert many people. He is not only enthusiastic but aggressive and frankly says that it is not the idle church member but the active Christian that is going to Inherit the Kingdom of God. If Rev. Barrett does not awaken some jrasT teligloup enthusiasm in Rensselaer and vicinity we miss our guess.
