L. H Chapman, of Newland, hag raised about 400 bushles of veiy fines potatoes this year. He brought os a v sample the other day and they are : fine, large and smooth potatoes. Harmon has been taking quite an interest in “Curly” Thomson, since he made the fine balloon ascension at Francesville recently, an* be has been talking with Daggering, the owner of the Monticeilo balloon, about bringing his balloon oyer her* ■ next Saturday and having Thomson make an ascension here. If arrangements can be made, it would probably help to bring a large crowd here that day, as the Crown Point fuobaflt gams will Attract a great many. It win take about |SO to pult off the event.
