Returned From Southern Trip.
Harvey W. Wood and bis four sons, Harve, Chauncey, Van and Paul, returned Saturday from their trip to Chattanooga, Tenn., where at the battle of Chickamauga Mr. Wood • was wounded 47 years ago, and on Sunday, the anniversary of that event, they spent on the battlefield where Mr. Wood was wounded. During the visit to the battle field Mr. Wood met a rebel who had participated in the battle and they grew quite friendly in talking over the exciting times of the civil war, and had their pictures taken hand in hand. Within a few feet of where Mr. Wood fell he and his sons dug bullets out of trees and logs and brought a number home with them. During their trip they visited Lookout Mountain and other points of Interest They report Chattanooga to be on the boom and to have made much progress during the past few years. On their return trip while on the Monon near Oreencastle a poll of their car was taken. Of the seventeen male passengers in the car 11 were for Taft and 2 for Brjran. Three refused to vote. For governor 8 voted for Watson and none for Marshall. The other passengers were nonresidents of the state.
