| Louis Wildberg is again confined to his home by sickness. Mrs. Georgia Brougood, of Sheridan, stoppf d off here yesterday and spent part of the day with her fi lend, Mrs. Allen Swim. Earl Reynolds and wife are spending this week in Rensselaer. Next week they will be at Atlanta, Ge., and the following week at Cleveland, Ohio. Leonard Turner, who worked in Rensselaer for several months and made many friends here, has decided to enter the Indiana state university for the purpose of taking a course in journalism. James E. Brenner up from Lafayette today. He found after going there that he could not work while taking a course in pharmacy, so he has about decided to enter the Illinois state pharmacy school at Chicago. Mrs. Will K. Martin and little nlc ce, Wilma Griffith, left this morning for their home in Washington, after a three weeks’ visit in Rensselaer. Her mother, Mrs. M. C. Powell, will remain for a more extended visit with her daughter, Mrs. C. G. Spitler. Mrs. Van Wood and babies, who have been staying at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Phillips, in Hanging Grove township, since Mr. Wood has been with his father and brothers on a sojourn in Tennessee, arrived home this morning. Her oldest child is not feeling at all welL The marriage of Mr. George W. Scott and Miss Lora Rhoades will take place this afternoon at 4 o’clock at the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. B. K. Zimmerman. They will begin hoasekeeplng in the north half of Miss Monahan's house on Weston street. Rev. J. C. Parrett, of the Presbyterian church, will perform the ceremony.

Thos. O. Chesnut ventured away from his home and got over as far as the depot today. It was the first time he had been away from his home for more than two weeks. About tin t time ago he suffered for three days with the nose bleed, which he had much difficulty in stopping. He is still quite week, and is regaining stength very slowly. J. W. Burgett, W. R. Jones, Joe Fox and Tom Wise, of Francesvllle, composed an automobile load of republicans en route to the big Ade rally. There were three or four more auto loads from that place passed through Rensselaer this morning, and the backs of the machines were labeled “Vote for Taft.’’ Other machines from more distant places were going through here all morning and the Ade rally is surely a big event.
THURSDAY County Chairman Moses Leopold went to Indianapolis today on business. Moses Chupp and wife and daughter have gone to Francesville to attend the fall festival. Miss lima Robinson went to Monticellp yesterday for a short visit with Miss Maude Simons. Freeman Wood went to Falrbury, I 111., to assist in taking care of a sick sister, who has appendicitis. The D. A. R. will hold their regular monthly meeting Friday afternoon j of this week with Mrs. C. W. Will Knight started for his home near Yukon, Okla., yesterday, after a vißit of several weeks with relatives in this country. T. J. Gleason went to Monon yesterday for a visit with friends and will also spend a day or two at the Francesville fall festival. Mrs. George Kimberlln returned to i Chicago this afternoon, having been here since the death of her mother, Mrs. J. N. Baker, of Barkley township L. D. Carey and wife returned to , Monticello today, having been guests of Attorney and Mrs. G. A. Williams at the big rally at Ade’s yesterday. The Republican has received a postal card from Chaa T. Otis, of the Otis ranch near Roselawn. The card was mailed in Paris, France, where Mr. Otis is sojourning. Lowell and Laporte are still trying to arrange for another game of ball this year, and it is probable that ' the same will take place at Laporte on Sunday, October 4th.
