Work Progressing Rapidly.
Work on the dam and power house is progressing rapidly. By Tuesday they hope to be able to commence on the roof of the power house and on the flood gates. As soon as the roof is on the machinery will begin to arrive. The' 200 foot stretch of dam between wheel house and flood gates will be constructed yet this fall. It had been thought that this would be of cement but It has been definitely determined to build of timber as there will not be so much risk from a settling of the structure on account of shifting of the river bottom which might happen under the site of the old structure after it is torn out The fish ladder will be installed just this side of the gate.— Monti cello Journal.
