Lost a Horse in the River.
Sam Lowery lost a good horse at the Burk bridge Friday forenoon. He was driving a team bitched to a wagon load of sand. While crossing the bridge one of the horses crowded the other, and it fell off the bridge into the river, dragging the other horse and the wagon into the water. The load of sand fell on top of the horses. One was so badly injured that it will die. The other was rescued with slight injuries and will recover.
This bridge is a dangerous place and steps should be taken to put it in a safe condition.
