Accidental Death at Delphi.

Arthur Ruffing, son of Joseph Ruffing, a prominent jeweler at Delphi, received a fatal shock of electikity Thursday night at 11:15 o’clock in the substation at the Fort Wayne and Wabash Valley Traction office at Delphi. Ruffing and a companion . named Ilarry Eldridge, who is an electrician, entered the sub-station without the permission of Norwood Gardner, night agent at the .traction office. The men went into the room for the purpose of Inspecting the electric apparatus.

Ruffing came in contact with the lightning arrester and 33,000 volts of electricity passed through his body. His left arm was slightly burned by the current. The body was removed to the father’s home and the coroner was called. The unfortunate young man was 21 years old and an engraver by occupation. He worked for his ‘father.

He was a prominent young man with bright prospects. His sudden death has cast a gloom over the entire population of Delphi. Rutfing had a number of relatives and many friends in this city.
