The subject of the Sunday morning sermon at the Christian church la “The Mission of the Church to the Community’*, in the evening “Man’s Duty to his Maker.** All are welcome. The services at the Presbyterian church at the usual hour next Sabbath. The morning subject, “The Coming Kingdom.”. The evening subject. “At Jacob’s well.” Everyone invited to these services. Little Harold Halleck and Mike Rosenbaum played “hookey” from school Wednesday afternoon, and thereby hangs a tale. Harold came home after the morning session, but when dinner was ready Harold was not there. It soon developed that Mike Rosenbaum was also missing, and when they did not report at the school house after dinner some alarm was felt. Finally a general search, wag made and along about 4 o’clock in the afternoon when fear was being entertained that the boys had been drowned a neighbor of the Hallecks heard, voices from the hay mow. A search wa* made and there were the two boys haying the most congenial time their young minds could Imagine, making and smoking cigarettes. They had been tolasing about four hours.
