Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 40, Number 101, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 28 August 1908 — The Home Coming Arch. [ARTICLE]

The Home Coming Arch.

The home craning arch from which the electric motto "Welcome Home” will be suspended, is now being erected by carpenters Robt. Yeoman and J. F. Fisher. The design for the arch was made by Leonard Rhoades, who is a member of the decorating committee, and it will be a very beautiful and Imposing affair. It will stretch across the street between the court house and the Odd Fellows building, and it is expected to have the framework completed by Friday evening, so that the decorating may be begun. It will take about 3,000 yards of bunting to cover the frame. The arch will be preserved and it can be brought into commission for any subsequent affair that Rensselaer holds.
