Broke His Leg.

Lowell Tribune. Tuesday afternoon John Hack had the misfortune to have both bones of his left leg broken midway between the knee and ankle. Mr. Hack has the contract of cleaning out the Beaver Dam ditch east] of St. John, and at the time of the accident was 'handling the scraper In some manner one of the horses fell, catching his leg between it and the bank of the ditch, and in his lunging caused the fracture of Mr. Hack’s leg. After being extracted from bis position he .lay on the ditch bank for some time until a doctor at Crown Point could be summoned. Dr. Houk came with his auto and took him to his office, where he and Dr. Blackstone reduced j the. fracture, after which Dr. Houk brought him home, arriving here j about 7 p. m. We called to see him next morning and found him as com--1 sortable as could be expected and taking it philosophically. His daughter, Mrs. Lynch, came down Tuesday night to assist in taking care of him.
