We failed to announce the arrival of two young gentlemen who came to Fair Oaks about the same time. One arrived the night of July 29, and has taken up his abode at Ed Kessler’s. The other arrived, early the next morning, arid may be found at Owen Barker’s as we hear he has come to stay. Some of our boys and also a few of the girls went to Lowell to see the sights and play ball, but there wag another team ahead of them arid they held the game too late for them to play. Quite a lot of Fair Oakers viewed the sights at Chicago Sunday, Sam Thornton and wife, who have been here for the 1 past five or six months, will visit friends in and near Rensselaer, after which they will return to their home in Washinngton state. Ed Kessler, who has been in Minnesota for the past six weeks, came home Saturday. Mrs. Kight spent a day or two this week at the Battle Ground camp meet ing. Mrs. Chas. Gundy and Mrs. N. A. McKay and children spent a day last week on the Kankakee boating and fishing. Frank Cox visited friends near Lowell last week. Charles Barker and family went to Kingman for a two weeks visit with relatives. Mr. Barnes, the operator, has been quite poorly lately and wen; to Chicago yesterday to consut a doctor there. Dora Cottlngham and probably others of Fair Oaks will go to Michigan this month to look at some land with a view to buying. Mrs. Dlckinsen, of Rensselaer, a sister of John Casey, is visiting here this week 4
