Mrs. George Capes of Idavllle, visited her mother Mrs. Groves over Sunday. John Kettering is looking after his farming interests in Pullman, Washington, Misses Gertrude and Kate Besse spent several days at sight seeing at Niagara Falls last week. Mrs. George Streeter, of Sturgeon, Mo., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Grant Culp. Miss Pearl LilVes went to Wabash, last week, for a short visit with relatives there. Miss Allie Dluzak went to Wabash last week to keep house for ter brother Charles while her sister Tena comes home to visit. 1 Mrs. Bert Spencer and daughter Dorothy returned home from Indianapolis Thursday after a month’s visit with Mr. and Mrs. Hal Sheets. Mrs. Joe Turner was bora at St. 'Anne, 111., Oct. 11, 1858, died Aug. 4th,, 1908, at the age of 49 years, 9 months, and 23 days. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and six children, Mrs. Chas. Bowman, Frank, Nason, Willie, Arthur and Ross Turner and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. J. M. Rodman of Fowler, interment in Remington cemetery. Miss Chloe Dobbins and brother Everett of Elwood came Friday -fora few weeks visit with their mother Mrs. Ada Dobbins and other relatives. ' . Willie Turner left Thursday for a short visit with relatives at Elwood, Frankfort and Indianapolis. . - Lowell Townsend is spending his vacation at home. Misses Ethel Greene and Clara Broadie spent a few days last week at Niagara Falls and other pices of interest. Mrs. John Kettering has been visiting with friends in Monticello since Saturday. Henry Tribby was home from Goodland from Friday until Sunday. Miss Susie Rowan of Otterbein visited her sister, Mrs. Carl Somers over night Friday. Miss Emma Haxby, of Effner, came Saturday for a weeks’ visit with Miss Tammie Roush. Clarence Parks, Fern Fordd, Ross Groves and Gus Merritt spent Thursday evening with Miss Susie Rowan and other girl friends at Otterbein, Mr. Dan Cressy and daughter Laura spent Sunday with relatives at Sharpsville. Miss Mable Detrick returned home Saturday from a six weeks’ visit with relatives at Rossville, Monon and Hartford, Mich. Miss Smith, of Chicago, visited her cousin, Mrs. Ida Tyler, over Sunday. Mr., and Mrs. Mid Sharkey and children, of Chicago, came Wednesday to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Joe Turner.
