J. Eugene Dilley Missing.

J. Eugene Dilley is again missing and is causing his family much uneasiness. Dilley formerly lived here and gave up school teaching to help found the Jasper County Democrat along with Dave Shields. A few weeks experience in the newspaper business satisfied him and he received an injury to the head and claimed he had been assaulted while driving through the country at night. His injuries resulted in insanity and becoming violent he was sent to the asylum at Logansport. in hopes of relieving the pressure on his brain Dilley submitted to an operation. Dilley then moved with his wife to Trafalgar and six years ago his old trouble returned and he wandered away and was located in this county. He is easily affected by the heat and while he always talks intelligently he can not remember where he belongs. A short time ago Dilley again disappeared from his home at Trafalgar and his family has been unable to locate him. <|The last heard of him was at Yeoman, Carroll county, July 25th. He was due in Chicago July 27, but he failed to appear and no trace of him can be found. He served as deputy assessor of Hensley township, Johnson county for three years, and he is a member of the Pythian fraternity. Dilley is thirty-nine years old, five feet 8% Inches in height, weighing 160 pounds, with blue eyes, black hair, dark mustache and wearing brown checked clothing. He carries a watch chain of pearl bars husked with gold, with moonstone charm on chain and K. of P. pin.
