WRENS SCORE ANOTHER VERY CLEVER VICTORY

Took ike Brookstor* Whip-Poor*-Wills Measure Sunday by Score of 3 to 4—Best Game Yet.

The Rensselaer Wrens were weak* ened Sunday by the absence of Dobbins and Qraot, the former being in Lowell and the latter In Chicago. Kirk of the Bpuds and Thompson of the Juniors played in their places, but j it is hard to fill the place of Dobbins, j and Kirk seemed a little excited at hie firßt appearance in fast company. But the Wrens put up the best game of the year, Parcells at short distinguishing himself by one or two very clever plays, and McCarthy! playing faultlessly at third. Morgan was good at first and Jess Wilcox at T6Cond, and Swartzell kept safe hits so scattered that the Whip-poor-wills were lucky to get what they did. There was a large crowd out, but the manager reports that only a small part of them contributed by the purchase of score cards, and not enough was taken In to defray the expense of the game, If it had not been for a bad throw to third by Elmer Wilcox in the third Corns ssto Ut* to tMb Id two of the

four Vanderkalks were on bases, one on 2d and one on Ist They pulled off a double steal, Wilcox throwing the ball over McCarthy’s head, Kirk backed him up but let the bail between his Bhlns, and Vanderkalk No. 1 romped home. Kirk then heaved the ball to Wilcox but the throw was wild and Vanderkalk No. 2 crossed the die. Rensselaer evened up their score in their half, Parcellß and McCarthy scoring. In the seventh Rensselaer took two again, Kirk getting first on an efrot, going to 3d on McCarthy's hit and he and McCarthy scoring od a Bharp two bagger by Morgan. Another Whip-poor-will scared in the Bth, but that was the beatxhey could do. The Wrens are putting up the fast game now and teams that play them from this out will have to keep busy. The score.
