Advice to Indiana.

Congressman Watson received about as much attention and admiration as any of the big guns at Chicago, and deservedly, too. Congressman Douglass of Ohio said of him* “I know Jim Watson very well, and 1 envy the state of Indiana in having him for its candidate for governor. I personally know him to be one of the best members of the house of representatives, and 1 also know him to be one of the best fellows in the world. As a matter of fact, I know of only one better fellow In the world. I have known him from boyhood, have grown up with him, and I know that all the good things that can be said of Jim Watson can also be said of our dear William Howard Taft He is one of the greatest men fltur country has ever produced, and in closing I want to say to Indiana that you cannot do better than to elect Jim Watson president and Will Taft—" When the cheering subsided he continued, "well,, sometimes coming •vents cast their shadows before them."
