Senator Allison Dies Suddenly.
Senator William B. Alllsou died Tuesday afternoon at his home In Dubuque, lowa. The end came as the result of sudden heart failure. He had been in failing health for the past two years but there had been no indication that death was near at hand. Senator Allison was 79 years of age the 2d of March, and was bom in Perry, Ohio. In 1857 he removed to lowa and from 1863 to 1871 he represented the Dubuque district Jn congress. In 1873 he was elected to the United States senate and he represented that state in the senate until the time of his death. He was twice a candidate for the republican nomination for president. He was one of the greatest men in public life and has been an important figure in national law making for almost halt a century.
