Joint Commissioners’ Meeting.

Auditor J. N. Leatherman, County Attorney A. Halleck, and County Com missioner Fred Waymire, Chas. T. Denham and John F. Pettit went to the Kankakee river this Wednesday morning, where they met the auditor and commissioners of Porter county, and discussed the matter of erecting a bridge over the Kankakee river north of DeMotte, at the new Hebron grade. It is thought likely that the main bridge and the smaller bridges over the grade outlets on both sides of the river will cost in the neighborhood of $14,000 and of this amount it is understood that Porter county has already appropriated $8,600. They will have to pay the greater cost of the bridge, but it is hardly probable that Jasper county will get out short of $5,000 The trip to the river was made in Mr. Halleck’s automobile.
