NOT MARRIED YET; WILL BE SOON
Firman Thompson Got the License But Has Not Been Before the Minister Yet.
Firman Thompson arrived home from Chicago on the 2:01 o’clock train this afternoon, and was somewhat surprised to learn that the fact that he had secured a license in Chicago to marry Miss Faye Clayton, of Monon, had already been published in the Republican, and also that it had been understood here that the marriage had already taken place. Rex Warner, who had been in Chicago with him, returned home yesterday evening, and Harry Kurrie, Firman’s brother-in-law, also returned yesterday, and both brought the information that the marriage had not taken place, notwithstanding the fact that the license had been issued.j And now Firman confirms the statement, and says that the wedding is not to take place until some day next
' week, but he declines to divulge any 'of the plans ..at this time. ' I He evasively says that he simply : got the marriage license a little j ahead of time, for fear the price i would advance befoe he was ready Ito use it. He thought he knew a bargain when he saw one and he got the license a little in advance. He was somewhat plagued by the prominence that had been given to the matter, but being convinced that he Is | going to shortly be the happiest benedict on earth he took the matter very pleasantly and made the most out of it After their wedding, which is to take place on or near Thursday, July 30th, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson will take up their residence in Chicago, where he will .be employed in the Union Stock Yards.
