DRUGGIST A DEFENDANT IN A DAMAGE SUIT

A.-suit was fikrt in ithe Jasper Cir<cuit Court by Mrs. Luctada Roe, of Remington, asking damages in the .sum of $5,000 from Druggist William Townsend of that town, .alleging that the druggist sold her .son, Harry Kofend, a vial Of carbolic acid which he used in taking his life on May 7, 1907. .According to the allegations of the jplaiatiff, as filed in thaercourt by her attorneys, Jasper Guy and Roy Blue, Mbs. Roe had called upon, the defendbefore thfr AUeged purchare of the carbolic .acid and requested that he should refrain from selling her son, who was .of unsound
mind, any dangerous drugs. TVe comjrtaint also alleges -that prior to the sen’s death they jointly Bresieved a ■pension of sl4 a month. Tais pension was conditioned on the living together, she as the guardian of the .son, and the complaint says that as moon as the son died she was no longer able to get the pension and -was also deprived of labor. The complaint ds very long and (among other things tells of her pres»ent age, 64 years, and .-savs (hat she de wholly dependent on her -labor for her maintenance. The case will come up for trial at the September term «f the Jasper circuit court.
