Found Their Baby Dead In the Bed
When Mrs. George Seibel awoke this Tuesday morning at about 4 o’clock she found her two months* old baby boy dead in the bed by her side. She at once awoke her husband and a physician was called and he in turn called County Coroner Wright. It seems that Mr. and Mrs. Seibel and their two children slept in the same bed. During the night the •baby had been nursed by the mother two or three times. Mrs. Sibel could not tell when she bad last nursed the baby, but it is probable that she went off to sleep and left the baby nursing. When Mrs. Seibel awoke she found the baby lying by her side and without being covered with any of the bed clothes. The doctor who examined the body found that there had been a bloody discharge from the right nostril, such as might have occurred from an unnatural presure on the child’s body, and it is therefore not improbable that the mother had rolled over the child and suffocation have occurred in that way. Coroner Wright -was convinced that the baby’s death -was not due to any foul means and no Inquest was heM over -the body of the little corpse. The -child was slightly deformed, -It is said, its head being diawn back unnaturally, and this fact may have reduced the vitality of the child. The funeral will be held Wednesday mowring.
