Eye Sight Declared Faulty.

Mrs. F. A. Ross and son Livingston returned Friday afternoon from Annapolis, Md., where they have been since March, and where Livingston has been In a preparatory school to fit him for the examination that is necessary for admission to the U. S. j naval academy, to which he had been appointed. About two weeks ago he received his grades on the. mental examination and -he met every requirement for admission. On the physlcial examination, however, he has failed, the examining surgeon declaring his eye sight not being good enough to admit him. When he first received his appointment he consulted the family physician here In Rensselaer, and was told that It would be very doubtful if he could pass the required examination of the eyes. He was placed under treatment, however, and his eyes seemed to gain In strength, and he was very much encouraged. He studied diligently during his preparatory course and it Is probable the eyes were tired by the strain and that another rest will restore them. Accordingly the test is not final, but he will be recalled to Annapolis again In September for another examination. The many friends of Livingston are hoping that he will be able to pass the i required physical examination when he is recalled.
