Attorney Honan Kicked by Horse.

Attorney E. P. Honan made the ,4th of July speech at Fair Oaks Saturday and remained to see the celebration. At about 4:30 o’clock tte first of the running races was pulled off and just as the race was finished, one of the horses fell and threw the rider off. Mr. Honan was standing near and ran over to assist in. getting the rider out of danger and just as he reached the side of the rider the horse raised up and kicked at him at short range, and the hoof of the animal struck him on the calf of the left leg and severely bruised It. Fortunately the bone of the leg was not injured, the hoof striking on the muscle, and aside from a painful bruise no other injury resulted.
