At least two soldiers’ widows in Jasper county have received pensions complying with the new law that grants a pension of sl2 a month to the widow of a soldier of the civil war. They are Mrs. S. A. Hemphill, of Rensselaer,and Mrs. Evaline Randle of Hanging Grove township. The DeMotte creamery, which started business about two years ago, shows net earnings for the year ending May Ist, of $1,073.
