Dowie’s Millions Dwindle.

The personal estate of John Alexander Dowie, “Prophet 'Elijah 11,” who- bpilded cities, who established big industries, who dealt in millions and who he’d the financial destinies of his thousands of followers in the hollow of his hand—for a while —now proves to be reduced to $1,200, of which Mrs. Dowie has been awarded S4OO as her widow dowry. The splendid robes of office have faded, the jewels have disappeared, the handsome furnishings of his home have been taken by receivership, the erstwhile glories of the founders of Zion are memories only, Mrs. Dowie’s memory of them has however prompted her to demand of the present receiver of Zion many items of personal property in Shiloh House, which she claims as her own. She has asked for the furnishings of her bedroom, for household articles including a “pillow case containing eleven infant robes," garments of cherished maternal associations. She asked also for a mahogany bedroom set inheri'ed from Eslhe Dowie, herr daughter, wl.o was burned to death. The value. of real estate no one seems to know and it .may mffve to be more valuable than is bisected. Mrs. Dowie has a claim on it. She and the son, Gladstone, are now in the chicken busi-ness-ojt-the Michigan estate, Ben Mac Dhui near Muskegon. And so has passed the story of Dowie.
