Are You Going to Lake Village.

That is whrit about every republican about Rensselaer has been asking of about every other republican for several days* pwC The occasion is the Newton county republican convention which is to be held Wednesday of this week, June 10th. The event promises to be a big crowd fetcher and the fact that there are so many candidates and that ( they are uniformly such an excellent lot of men, makes the contest a spirited one and the prospect of a lively time gets the crowd. Newton county will not alone help to swell the crowd, for Rensselaer politicians have been counting on this affair for several weeks and they are going up enmasse on the milk train Wednesday morning. The trip involves two changes of cars, the first at Shelby and the second at Snyder, and good connections are made both going and returning. It is provable that the Rensselaer crowd will be augmented at Shelby by a crowd from Wheatfield and DeMotte.

Now that the corn is all planted and the farmer has a little breathing spell, it is thought the Lake Village convention will draw the largest crowd that was ever gathered there; and that the convention will be the liveliei ever held in that county. The Rensselaer bunch will be the liveliest set in the town and there won’t be a “dry” moment for any one who joins in the throng.
