President Commends Watson.
During a recent interview between President Roosevelt and Representative Watson, candidate for governor of Indiana, the president called John 1 Mitchell, the labor leader, to him and Bald: • “Mr. Mitchell you spend most of your time in Indianapolis, in the state where Mr. Watson lives. I want to say in your presence—and it is due to him that I should say it —that he has worked incessantly to carry out the legislative program that I have striven to have enacted. I am confident that if it had not been for his efficient and Intelligent labor many things that I have wanted done would not have been done.** “I am very much pleased to hear you say this of Mr. Watson,” said Mr. Mitchell. 1 President Roosevelt has had six favorite measures under consideration by this session of congress and Mr. Watson has urged the passage of all of them. What President Roosevelt said concerning Mr. Watson was a tribute to the Indiana man. who has been a loyal supporter of the administration.
