Newton County convention.
The next real important political event in this seetion of Indiana to -the— Newton coufiTy “Republican convention. This important event is set for June 10th and the place is TaW> Village, and the republican chairman of Newton county has arranged for a great big meeting and he proposes to have the greatest crowd at the village that it ever had. Hon. James E. Watson, republican candidate for governor, and Congressman Crumpackpr, have promised to be mere and all the politicians of the county will assemble to settle one of the liveliest ante-conventions the republicans ever held there. There will be plenty of candidates and should be plenty of see-gars, and several Rensselaer politicians are planning to go over there and help to keep the tflOl rolling. They will leave here on the milk train and get over to the village before the show begins.
