Chas. M. Sands Elected Trust Officer.

All members of the township trustees’ board bat Grant Davisson, of Barkley township were In attendance at the monthly meeting at the county superintendent’s office Monday, and in addition Dr. E. C. English, reppresenting the Rensselaer school board and Geo. O. Stembel, representing the Wheatfield school board, wre present. The Remington school board was not represented. All reports of township and school corporation enumerations were filed except Barkley, trustee Davisson having been prevented from coming in by business. The annual election of county truant officer took place, and a lively contest for the place was precipitated. There were five candidates and six ballots were required to arrive at a decision. Parks Is the retiring truant officer, Mr. Sands is a young lawyer and former school teacher residing in Rensselaer and will doubtless make a good officer. The remarkable thing about the school enumeration is the marked falling off, which shows In almost every township. The total loss in the county was 404. In Marion township it was 109 but this was occasioned by the fact that the enumeration formerly included the college, whifch should not be included.
