Keit Their Marriage a Secret.

W. R. Nowels and wife and other relatives in Rensselaer have just learned of the marriage of Mr. Nowels’ daughter, Ida, which took place on Thanksgiving day, Nov. 29, 1907. Her husband is Herbert Cochran,a member of last year’s graduating class of Indiana University, and who has located and begun practice at Wabash. The object of keeping the marriage a Secret was the fact that Mrs. Cochran was teaching school at Flora and desired to continue to teach the year out. The marriage took place at St. Joe, Mich., a place that in former years was much more renouned than it is now for secret marriages. Miss Nowels is the youngest of ten living children of Riley Nowels and wife and all the others have been previously married. A few weeks ago she was here to attend the funeral of her grandmother, Mrs. David Nowels, but she did not confide the fact of her marriage to any of her relatives. They will establish their home in Wabash, where the husband is already acquiring a fine start in the legal profession.
