Rensselaer Semi-Weekly Republican, Volume 40, Number 67, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 24 April 1908 — Administrator Found No Will. [ARTICLE]
Administrator Found No Will.
The last hope that the late Dr. Hartsell had left a will that would provide for the disposal of his property, was shattered when Philip Blue* the administrator, and his attorney. B. F. Ferguson, returned from Chicago, after going to several banks in that city, where Dr. Hartsel had accounts and where he was known to have done business. A key was fouitig In his safe here that it had been thought would unlock a safety deposit box In some Chicago bank, but it had been given out by none of ths banks that the Rensselaer parties visited, and the hope of a will being found is now an almost remote one. r As before stated the will executed In 1883, named his brother, Joseph Hartsell as the sole beneficiary. That brother has since died and he left no heirs, having never been married. This will being veld and no later one having been found, and no Rensselaer acquaintances of Dr. Hartsell, who might have been expected to have known it had he made a will, having any knowledge of a will, it is quit* evident that he died intestate. Delos Thompson and W. V. Porter, who have been appraising the estate, have made a partial report at the personal property, but the completed report has not yet been filed, and the administrator Is not prepared at this time to make an estimate at the value of the estate.
