Our County Farm Leads.

The report of the slate board of charities show that Jasper’ and Warren counties were the only two In the state that had county farms where the receipts exceeded the expenditures. It should be very gratifying news to the tax payers of Jasper county to know that of the 92 counties in Indiana Jasper heads the .entire list In efficient management, and the report speaks splendidly for the work of Superintendent Jesse Nichols and his wife. ( The Jasper county farm is situated just one mile west of the north part of Rensselaer and consists of 278.25 acres. During the year which ended December 3J., 1907, the total expenses of the farm, including the supereintendent’s salary, was $2,969.49. The total receipts was $3,073.71,, leaving a balance of $104.22. There were from 15 to 18 inmates at the county farm during the twelve months and they were provided with fare and clothing and none of them are physically able to work. The farm work was done by hired hands and It Is probable there Is not a farm in Indiana of the size of this one that was more successfuly managed.
