63th Wedding Anniversary Trip.
Frank Hill and family are being visited by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. James Hill, of Madison, Ind., who arrived here Wednesday, that being the 63rd anniversary of their marriage. Mr. Hill is 93 years of age and his wife is 86, and both are In quite good health and withstood the trip from Madison, which was made In company with their granddaughter, Mrs. Frank Springer, very nicely. The trip was made on their anniversary as a means of celebrating the event They will remain here for about a week. t In 1905, Mr. Hill and his son, William L. Hill, bought 2,000 acres of the Jordan township McCoy lands of Trustee Chapman, paying $62.50 an acre for It and the total amount of the cash payment being $124,995.80, which was probably the largest amount of cash ever paid in a Jasper county real estate deal The land has since that time been divided, and the sons, William L., Chares and Frank, are now the owners. Mr. Hill helped survey the first railroad built in Indiana, which was the Madison end Indianapolis. That was in 1837, and he has resided in or near Madison ever sines.
