Another Friend of Dr. Hartsell's Writes.

Dr. J: Martin Littlejohn, of Chicago, writes the Republican as follows:; “A friend of mine has sent me copies of yous paper- containing notices of the death of my friend, Dr. HartselL I have known him for eight years. J was Introduced to him by % a friend of his for many years. During these eight years be has never been in the city that he did not call on me. I learned to love him nad to admlrq hist manliness and courage. He was not in any sense an athiest. Many times we have discussed religious matters. - He condemned the. formalism and rigid and severe views of the churdt on many points, but was himself a strong believer In God and the hereafter. Only a few weeks before his death he visited me in the city and in discussing the recent demise of « mutual friend in the city here he ex* pressed the confidence that that friend had passed into a better land. Hs was a broad, highly educated man, of tenderest sympathies, suffering almost as a woman would suffer in contemplation of the pains and sufferings of his patients. I never knew a mors honest character and no man of my acquaintance held a warmer place In my heart. This testimony you can. use if you will, as it comes from my heart”
