Rhoades--Harris Wedding.
About 45 relatives end friends witnessed the marriage Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock of Miss Ruth Minerva Harris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Harris, to Mr. Leonard Cecil Rhoades, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Rhoades. The Harris home on College avenue was the scene of the wedding and the parlor was becomingly decorated In pink adn white, and in one corner of the room there was a large bank of ferns and it was in this corner that the popular young couple stood when the ceremony was performed by Rev. J. L. Brady, uncle of the bride. Mrs. Orlan Grant played the wedding march and just before that Miss Ethel Ferguson sang, “Oh Promise Me.” There were no attendants and no efforts had been made to make the wedding an elaborate affair and In the simplicity of the function was its greatest beauty. After the ceremony was performed the guests partook of a wedding repast and the bride and groom took the 6:32 train for Chicago, where they will spend a few days. They will reside in the Dr. Washburn cottage on College avenue. The only guests from out of the city were Mrs. C. D. Martin, of Cincinnati, aunt of the groom; Mr. Delos Coen, of Chicago, cousin of the bride, and Miss Maud Atkins, of Monticello, a friend of the bride’s.
