Fire Last Sunday.
The house owned and occupied by Chris Wuerthner and mother, about four miles west and a half mile south of Rensselaer, was burned to the ground last Sunday morning. Mr. Wuerthner had gone to church and there was no one at home but his mother. She discovered a blase In the roof near the chimney and managed to get on top of the house and put a little water on the blase but could not put It out. Elisur Sage and wife and son and Carl Sparks, who works at the Sage farm, saw the fire and hastened to the house and succeeded In removing most of the furniture from the lower rooms, but the fire spread rhpldly and the things up stairs and the house were entirely destroyed. Among other things |BO In cash Is said to have been burned. And it la reported that Mrs. Wuerthner had money stored away In several places In the bouse and succeeded In getting it all but the above amount They are living now at the home of Ehrhardt Wuerthner, Br., his wife being Mrs. Wuerthner's daughter.
