Jennings a Good Ckecker Player.

V. S. Jennings, the visiting checker player, gave a fine exhibition of his skill at the armory last Friday night, when he took one side of the table on which rested seven checker boards. On the other side were seven players, one at each board and they were arranged so that Jennings got alternately white and black. He began at the first table and one move was exchanged and the same on the second, third and so on down the line. Then he returned to the first table and each exchanged moves. He moved without much hesitation and each of his opponents had all the time they wanted to make their moves. In all he played 18 games, some of his opponents playing three and some only twoo games. He won 6, lost 4, and drew 8, as follows: Won Lost Drew Healey . . ... 2 0 1 Halleck ; .... 1 1 0 : Ttlioiriae' ..... 1 l l McFarland .... 0 o 3 mil o i 2 Tyler ..... 0 1 1 j Hemphill .... 0 2 0 4,6 8 Jennings was quite thoroughly exhausted at the close of the contest.
