A Charity Miscellaneous Shower.

The Sew Club, which is composed of a large number of young married and maiden ladies, Thursday held a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Fred Phillips for the benefit of tie Monnett Children’s Home. It was originally expected to have the shower for donations of thread, nee£,les and pins, but the charity of she members became more extensive and the shower resulted in many other articles being brought in, including Sbap and towels, articles of clothing, •etc. The matron of the home, Mrs. Eva B. Wilson and the field worker, Miss Winnie Crouch, were gueßts of the club, and Miss Crouch gave a very interesting talk, explanatory of the rescue work which the home Is accomplishing. The members of the club were so intensely inertested that they at once planned to hold a market for the home and they have other methods of aid in contemplation. • it Is also learned tifat a plan Is being formulated by some good ladies of the city to hold several vlsitoors meetings at the home and to Invite all ladies of the city to attend them. For this purpose the city will be divided into sections and days set for the different sections, and Miss Crouch will hdress each crowd of visitors, and explain the work, not for the purpose of securing aid, but in order to familiarize all with the character of the Iwork. 2 11 18 also probable that days woll be set for the visits of people from the country.
