The worst load a man can carry is that of habits begotten of evil passions—that growing pile of sensuous deeds, which in their accumulation, cohere finally into a mass, devil possessed which sits between his shoulders, over-weighing all else in kind, and driving him ruthlessly, fatefully on the road downward.
