We Wondered How It Happened.

Contractor John Levandowski was in Rensselaer last Saturday looking after the interests of Congressman Watson’s candidacy for governor, and notes with satisfaction that his work resulted in the selection of seven Watson delegates from Jasper. Mr. Levandowski is an old-time friend of Watson and is devoting most of his time to the promotion of the latter’s chances. —Monticello Democrat. We saw levandowski here several times but had never given hitn credit with getting all the votes. In fact we thought the Rensselaer crowd that had been with Watson from the love feast date rather headed the movement to get the delegates for “Jim.” We are pleased, however, to see that “Levy” gives himself full credit, and our Miller friends can charge their, defeat up to this Monticello political diplomat.
