Make the Most of Rensselaer.

The natural beauty of Rensselaer has been marred in past years by the greatest amount of carelessness in keeping the parking between the sidewalks and the streets properly mowed and cleaned. This is a good time for the property owners and residents of rented property to look the yard and parking over, gather up all stickß and rocks and bones that would interfere with the operating of a lawn mower and plan to keep the premises cleaned up. At Monticello the law that requires property owne/s to see that the parking is kept mowed is rigidly enforced and the result is a very beneficial one. The beauty of a city can be greatly marred by a little neglect and now is the time for each person to decide to do his or her part to make the great satisfaction to have strangers remark when they enter a town that they like it because of the great amount of local pride exhibited by its people. Things of this sort encourage people to locate in a town and help to make it grow. We are quite apt to judge apy other town by the appearance of its streets and alleys and its sidewalks, and we are judged by every person that enters our city during the year. Conditions here are

prosperous, good prices have been paid for the products of the farm, merchants have enjoyed a liberal trade, business in all lines has been about as good as it ever was and every one should be feeling happy. While in this mood we should locate the rake and make a campaign for better looks and consequently for better conditions of health. By the way, the health officer is going to do his part to see that this cleaning up proposition is thoroughly done, and he will be nosing around some of these days to see who has been busy. Let us beat him to it.
