The Indianapolis Star has inaugurated a contest to determine on the eleven most popular young ladies in Indiana, and the successful contestants will be given r a free trip to Europe. efforts of any young lady. For every yearly 'subscription to the Star a thousand votes is given, which may be recorded to the credit of any candidate; and in each Issue of the Star there is one ballot that may be voted. The State is divided into eleven districts, six of which are confined to Indianapolis, and five to the balance of the State. Newton county is in the tenth district, together with Jasper, White, Benton, Tippecanoe, Pulaski, Fulton, Cass, Warren, Carroll, Fountain, Montgomery, Boone and Clinton counties. Early in the week' Miss Adah E. Bush of this place was nominated as one of the candidates from this district, and f.imdr are rallying to her suport in great numbers, and from all parts of the district. This early in the contest she looks like a winner, and the Enterprise takes great pleasure In introducing her to the Star readers of our neighboring counties. Miss Bush is a young lady who would grace the most select company the Star will be able to assemble for its trip abroad, and her culture, refinement and good taste would enble her to fully enjoy and appreciate the trip. Miss Bush is a typical type of the modern young successful and competent business woman, popular In the best circles of society, and a leader in most any undertaking to which sbe applies herself. As tt is beyond the range of possibility for the average person to take such a trip as contemplated by the Star, Miss Bush’s ambition to grasp the coveted prize is a laudable one. Her success in the contest would not only be a personal honor fittingly bestowed, but it would also be ‘a nice compliment to Kentland and Newton county. Miss Bush makes no secret of the fact that she is In the contest to win, and will receive most gladly all support given her. If you are a Star reader, save the coupons and mall them to Miss Bush or send them direct to the Star office. The effort means so little to you, yet a few votes may determine the choice in favor of Miss Bush.
