What is a Boy’s Time Worth.

It has been recently figured out that a boy’s time, if spent in study, is worth between eight and nine dollars a day. Thus: if an uneducated man earns $1.50 per day for 300 days in a year he does well, and if he keeps this up for 40 years he earns $150x300x40 or SIB,OOO. If you strike an average of the educated men from the President of the U. S. and many of the Insurance and R. R. officials at their $50,000 a year to those in the lower walks of life, you must admit that SI,OOO a year is a low average for educated labor. For 40 years and you have $40,000 for the earnings of the educated man. Substract $lB,000 from this and the $22,000 must represent the value of the boy’s time spent in school getting an education. The average school life of every boy and girl is lses than 7 years of 150 days ekch. And to this 8 years of high school and college at 180 days and there is less than a total of 2500 days spent in Bchool. Divide $22,000 by 2,500 and it will readily come home to you that each day properly spent in school must be worth $8.40 from a commercial standpoint alone.-
